How to treat cervicitis in women? 4 common methods for women to check cervicitis

The occurrence of cervicitis causes great harm to every patient. So do you know how to check cervicitis? Let’s take a look below.

Cervicitis is a common gynecological disease. Many people have lost their normal lives because of this disease. Therefore, the harm caused by it cannot be ignored by women. Especially when patients have unexplained vaginal bleeding, abnormal leucorrhea and other symptoms, we must be vigilant and pay attention. So, what diagnostic methods are there for cervicitis that can help us get rid of this disease as soon as possible?

Four common diagnostic methods for cervicitis

1. Colposcopy

It can quickly detect lesions that are invisible to the naked eye and take biopsies from suspicious areas during colposcopy, which can significantly improve the accuracy of biopsies.

2. Gynecological examination

Focus on checking the size, shape, texture, thickness of the cervical canal, and whether there is contact bleeding. Secondly, check the condition of the vulva, vagina, uterus, and paracervical tissues (ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lymph nodes, etc.).

3: Iodine test and visual observation

This method is very simple and cheap, and can detect at least 2/3 of the lesions. As a preliminary screening method for cervical cancer, 3%-5% acetic acid solution is applied to the cervix. The reaction of the cervical epithelium to acetic acid is observed, and then a biopsy is taken from the white lesion area.

4: Cervical smear cytology examination

This is a routine examination for gynecological cervicitis. It is simple, easy, cost-effective, and the most important auxiliary examination and the preferred initial screening method for cancer prevention surveys.

How to treat cervicitis

1. Laser treatment

Laser treatment for chronic cervicitis has the effects of anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and promoting tissue repair. Since this treatment method avoids direct contact with the cervix, the depth of burning is easy to control and the harm is relatively small. It usually takes about a month to take effect. Laser treatment for chronic cervicitis is safe and will not affect the future fertility of female patients.

2. Drug treatment

The drug treatment of this disease is the use of traditional Chinese medicine or a mixture of traditional Chinese medicine and antibiotics, using vaginal medication or flushing to treat cervicitis locally. The drug treatment of this disease has certain effects such as clearing away heat and dampness, reducing swelling and relieving pain, promoting blood circulation and regenerating muscles, and it has little trauma, is very convenient to use, and will not damage the uterus.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

What methods can be used to treat cervicitis? Symptoms include heavy vaginal discharge, yellow color or blood streaks, thick texture, short yellow urine, sticky and uncomfortable stools, burning sensation in the anus, red tongue, yellow and greasy coating, and rapid or slippery pulse. This type of cervicitis is caused by damp-heat. When treating this type of cervicitis, it is advisable to clear away heat, promote dampness and stop vaginal discharge. Use Chinese medicinal materials such as 6 grams of Achyranthes bidentata, 10 grams each of Phellodendron chinense, Ginkgo biloba, Cortex Moutan, and Artemisia Capillaris, and 18 grams of Chinese yam, which have significant effects in treating cervicitis.

Symptoms include excessive vaginal discharge, continuous, white or light yellow, sticky and odorless, poor appetite, loose stools, pale and fat tongue with teeth marks on the edges, white or greasy tongue coating, slow or weak pulse. This is a type of cervicitis caused by spleen deficiency. When treating this type of cervicitis, it is advisable to invigorate qi and strengthen the spleen, remove dampness and stop vaginal discharge.
