Home care for patients with dysuria caused by vulvar leukoplakia

Vulvar leukoplakia is a common gynecological disease, which is mainly manifested by changes in the pigmentation of the vulva, which may be accompanied by vulvar itching. In severe cases, the labia majora and minora atrophy, adhesions, and joint tightening, the vaginal opening is narrow, and even urination is affected, which seriously affects the patient's quality of life. Therefore, the following care should be done at home to improve urination disorders.

1. Psychological care

Women with vulvar leukoplakia have been feeling unhappy for many years. If accompanied by urination disorders, the psychological burden of patients can be aggravated, causing irritability, complaints, shame, etc. At this time, family members should give comfort, treat patients with love and respect, relieve the psychological stimulation caused by urinary incontinence, and encourage patients to overcome psychological barriers.

2. Perform muscle exercises

After urination difficulties occur, patients should strengthen pelvic muscle exercises, which will help reduce the adhesion of the vaginal opening and promote urination. Family members can help patients try to urinate, first slowly tighten the pelvic floor muscles, then slowly relax, for about 10 seconds each time, 10 times in a row, and exercise several times a day until you feel no fatigue. Exercising the tension of the bladder wall muscles can enhance the ability to control urination.

3. Keep your vulva clean

Frequent urination practice may result in continuous urine discharge from the vaginal opening. Therefore, the perineum must be cleaned regularly, with frequent perineal irrigation, frequent changes of clothing, and keeping the skin clean and dry.
