What is the cause of polycystic ovarian cysts and what are the dangers

Polycystic ovarian cysts are not a disease. Strictly speaking, polycystic ovarian cysts are not a disease, but a syndrome. The powerful function of the ovaries begins to gradually emerge after puberty. Women's big breasts, slim waists, and plump buttocks are all related to the estrogen secreted by the ovaries. So, what is the cause of polycystic ovarian cysts and what are the hazards?

Polycystic ovary is caused by dysfunction of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, which destroys the mutual dependence and regulation, resulting in the ovaries being unable to ovulate for a long time. The typical clinical manifestations of this disease are anovulatory menstrual disorders, such as amenorrhea, functional uterine bleeding, infrequent or anovulatory menstruation, often accompanied by hirsutism, obesity, infertility, bilateral ovarian hyperplasia or unilateral ovarian enlargement and some changes in hormone levels.

The hazards of polycystic ovarian cysts are mainly three:

1. Premature aging: If ovarian cysts are not treated for a long time, it will cause endocrine disorders in women, dull face, and premature aging. The accompanying pale face, acne spots, sallow complexion and thin body are unbearable for female patients.

2. Fertility difficulties: Ovarian cysts will gradually grow larger, affecting the combination of sperm and eggs, making it impossible to conceive normally, thus leading to infertility. Ovarian function gradually declines, menstruation stops, there is no fresh cell flow in the ovaries, the egg survival rate is extremely low, and sperm cannot land normally, inducing infertility.

3. Easy to have miscarriage: Female patients with ovarian cysts in early pregnancy are prone to miscarriage. When the cyst becomes larger, there is a possibility of difficult labor.

4. Malignant transformation: Ovarian cysts continue to grow larger, bringing in bacteria and viruses from the outside world, causing ovarian infection, resulting in edema, congestion, inflammation, etc. The possibility of malignant transformation directly threatens the patient's life safety.
