What is the normal age for women to have menopause?

Generally speaking, the absence of menstruation at the normal menopausal age is called "menopause", and amenorrhea generally refers to the long-term absence of menstruation before the menopausal age. Most women reach menopause at around 50 years old, which may be earlier or later, depending on the individual.

Female menopause is a manifestation of ovarian function decline, even complete loss, and decreased estrogen. Female menstruation refers to the periodic shedding and bleeding of the endometrium caused by the cyclical changes in the ovaries. Female ovaries are gonadal organs, and their main function is to produce eggs and secrete female hormones. From puberty, female ovarian function begins to mature, ovulation occurs, and the secretion of estrogen and progesterone occurs. The hormones secreted act on the endometrium, causing the endometrium to shed periodically and form menstruation. As the ovarian function develops and matures to its peak, it will gradually decline. Women's ovarian function is at its peak when they are around 30 years old, and then gradually declines. When they reach around 50 years old, their ovarian function declines significantly, and the secretion of estrogen and progesterone has weakened. Therefore, women generally experience menstrual disorders around the age of 50, which are manifested as changes in menstrual volume and menstrual cycle. After a period of time, when the ovarian secretion function is not enough to cause the endometrium to shed, menopause will occur.

Since each woman has different basic hormone levels and physical constitutions, the specific age of menopause should also vary from person to person.
