4. If the body temperature is above 37.5℃ twice before the operation, the operation will be postponed.

3. Surgical steps

1. The operator should wear clean work clothes, a hat, a mask, wash hands and wear sterile gloves;

2. Oral misoprostol before surgery can soften the cervix, reduce cervical damage, prevent cervical adhesions and reduce intraoperative bleeding;

3. The patient takes the lithotomy position, and the vulva and vagina are routinely disinfected, and the vulva is covered with a sterile towel;

4. Detailed review of the position, size and bilateral adnexa of the uterus;

5. Use a speculum to dilate the vagina, use a probe to detect the depth of the uterine cavity in the direction of the uterus, and use a cervical dilator to gently dilate the cervix in a pen-like manner.

6. Suction the uterine cavity to ensure that the gestational sac and surrounding tissues are sucked out cleanly.

IV. Postoperative Treatment

1. Observe for 1-2 hours after the operation, and pay attention to bleeding and lower abdominal pain. Pay attention to rest and strengthen nutrition after leaving the hospital. You should rest in bed for 2-3 days after the abortion, and gradually increase your activity time to reduce the incidence of intrauterine blood accumulation. Do not engage in heavy physical labor or work in cold water within half a month after the abortion to avoid catching cold. Pay attention to increasing nutrition, eat more protein-rich foods such as fish, meat, eggs, bean products, and fresh vegetables rich in vitamins to promote the early repair of damaged endometrium;

2. Keep the vulva clean. Sexual intercourse and bathing are strictly prohibited within one month. After abortion, the cervix has not yet completely closed, and the endometrium also has a process of repair. During this period, special attention should be paid to keeping the vulva clean and hygienic. The sanitary napkins and underwear used should be washed and changed frequently.

3. Observe the bleeding. If vaginal bleeding lasts for more than one week after abortion, or is accompanied by lower abdominal pain, fever, turbid leucorrhea with a foul odor, etc., you should go to the hospital for a follow-up visit in time.
