Do uterine fibroids have to be removed? What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids?

Having uterine fibroids is a big blow to women, and many of them need surgery in clinic. So, what are the symptoms of uterine fibroid removal?

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive system. They are formed by the proliferation of uterine smooth muscle cells. Therefore, they are also called uterine leiomyoma, which mainly occurs between the ages of 35 and 50. Common symptoms of uterine fibroids include increased menstrual volume and prolonged menstruation, lower abdominal mass, increased leucorrhea, and compression symptoms. Fibroids on the anterior wall of the uterus, such as compression of the bladder, can cause frequent urination, urgency, mild lower abdominal swelling, and back pain.

Basically, for women under 40 years old who have fertility requirements and normal genital function, it is recommended to eliminate fibroids in a timely manner to avoid excessive growth of fibroids, which can not only improve reproductive function, but also prevent red degeneration or secondary infection during future pregnancy.

Generally, once a uterine fibroid is found, if it is 5CM, we can consider drug control and regular observation. If the symptoms are more than CM, we can consider combining drugs with physical therapy. If the uterine fibroid grows rapidly, it needs timely treatment.

Whether or not to have surgery for uterine fibroids depends on the specific situation. Due to the different sizes, numbers, locations, growth rates, and ages of fibroids, the patient's symptoms are different, and the specific treatment methods are also different. In fact, most uterine fibroids do not require surgical removal because the endocrine environment that causes fibroid growth is not well regulated. Even if the fibroids are removed, new fibroids will grow.
