Ectopic pregnancy is a common gynecological disease. About 95% of ectopic pregnancies occur in the fallopian tube. Due to the thin wall of the fallopian tube and poor decidual reaction, the fertilized egg directly erodes the fallopian tube muscle layer, which can cause local bleeding and cause great damage to the fallopian tube. When the fallopian tube expands to a certain limit, it can also cause the following situations. 1. Tubal pregnancy abortion As the fertilized egg continues to grow in the fallopian tube, the pressure inside the foetal sac increases, causing the capsule to rupture and fall into the fallopian tube cavity. Through the reverse peristalsis of the fallopian tube, it is discharged into the abdominal cavity through the umbrella end, resulting in a complete fallopian tube abortion. If the embryonic sac is not completely peeled off and some villi are still attached to the tube wall, it is an incomplete fallopian tube abortion. 2. Ruptured tubal pregnancy When the fertilized egg grows bigger, the trophoblast cells erode the muscular layer and serosa toward the tube wall, which may cause the fallopian tube pregnancy to rupture. Since the fallopian tube muscular layer and mesentery are rich in blood vessels, rupture can cause heavy bleeding in a short period of time. In severe cases, it can cause hemorrhagic shock. If the bleeding is repeated, blood will accumulate in the abdominal cavity to form a hematoma, causing a purulent infection. 3. Interstitial pregnancy This condition is rare, but once it occurs, the consequences are serious, usually within 3 to 4 months of pregnancy. Since the interstitial part is the gathering area of uterine and ovarian blood vessels, it is rich in blood supply. Once this condition occurs, the patient may suffer fatal intra-abdominal bleeding in a short period of time. |
