How to prevent cervicitis?

Nowadays, as one of the common gynecological diseases, the incidence of cervicitis has been getting higher and higher, and the harm to women has been getting greater and greater, so the prevention of cervicitis is urgent. So how should we prevent cervicitis? The following editor will introduce it to you in detail.

How should we prevent cervicitis? Experts in our hospital said that the prevention of cervicitis must be targeted at the causes of cervicitis one by one.

1. Pay attention to hygiene during menstruation and sexual life

Sexual activity should be moderate and not too frequent. Twice a week is appropriate for young women. Sexual intercourse is prohibited during menstruation. It is not advisable to have sex too early after abortion, delivery, or uterine surgery. Generally, sex is allowed one month after uterine surgery, and three months after delivery. Before and after each sexual intercourse, both men and women should develop the habit of cleaning the external genitalia, and at the same time, avoid rough sexual intercourse. Actively prevent and treat various infections that may cause cervicitis. For those who have various bacteria, viruses, trichomonas, fungi, and sexually transmitted infections, anti-trichomoniasis, anti-fungal, and anti-viral drugs should be given in a targeted manner to prevent the development of cervical precancerous lesions.

2. Avoid sexual disorder

Many countries have reported that early sexual age and disordered sexual life are direct high-risk factors for cervical cancer. Early sexual age refers to sexual life before the age of 18, which is 13.3 times higher than the prevalence of sexual life over 25 years old. Disordered sexual life refers to having multiple sexual partners. According to surveys, women who have been married more than twice or have had sexual relations with multiple men are more likely to develop cervical cancer. A large number of studies have shown that sexually transmitted diseases (i.e. STDs) are closely related to cervicitis, especially cervical cancer. Multiple sexual partners are significantly related to cervical precancer lesions and cervical cancer. Human papilloma in spring is the main risk factor for cervical cancer.

3. Late marriage and childbearing

Cervicitis and cervical cancer mostly occur in married women, and rarely in unmarried women, indicating that it is closely related to sexual life. According to census data, the incidence of cervical cancer is 158.78/100,000 for those who are married at the age of less than 20, and 22.45/100,000 for those over 26, a difference of 7 times. The age of first sexual intercourse is more important than the age of first marriage. For those who have first sexual intercourse under the age of 18, the incidence of cervical cancer is 4 times higher than that of those over 18. Delaying the age of sexual intercourse can reduce the relative risk.

4. Family planning

The incidence of cervical cancer is high in women with multiple births. Due to multiple artificial abortions or pregnancy and childbirth, the stimulation or damage to the cervix causes abnormal proliferation of the cervical epithelium, which can then develop into cancer. Unmarried women and those who do not pay attention to contraception after marriage still increase the chance of cervicitis if they have multiple artificial abortions. Therefore, it is necessary to take contraceptive measures seriously to avoid damage to the cervix caused by multiple births or artificial abortions.

5. Gynecological examination

Cancer screening is recognized as the main measure for preventing cervical cancer at home and abroad. Through screening, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment can be achieved, thereby reducing the incidence and mortality of cervical cancer. Those with cervicitis should strengthen regular follow-up and conduct routine cervical smear cytology examinations. If cervical polyps are found, they should be removed as soon as possible. Moderate and severe cervical erosion should be treated early to prevent the development of cervical cancer. Once bleeding after sexual intercourse is found, medical treatment should be sought as soon as possible, especially for postmenopausal women. Do not be ashamed to talk about bleeding after sexual intercourse, and do not delay seeking medical treatment, which will delay the disease.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the prevention of cervicitis. Our hospital experts said that in daily life, the prevention and treatment of cervicitis must be carried out as early as possible.
