Young woman loses 36 kg in half a year and successfully wears beautiful clothes

In order to wear beautiful clothes and show off her graceful figure, 24-year-old Wang Wenru used to lose weight with yogurt and soda crackers, but the numbers on the scale would never go down. It was not until January this year that she reduced her food intake every day, ate vegetarian meals, drank unsweetened soy milk for three meals, and maintained brisk walking for at least an hour every night. Finally, she lost 36 kilograms from 95 kilograms in half a year and successfully wore the clothes she liked.

According to the Department of Health's "Health Risk Factor Monitoring 1998-1999", the rate of overweight or obesity among adults in Taiwan is as high as 38.4%, including 47.6% for males and 28.8% for females, which can easily lead to breast cancer, colorectal cancer and chronic diseases.

Huang Meina, director of the Taichung Municipal Government's Health Bureau, said that in order to make it easier for people to lose weight, weight scales and blood pressure monitors will be installed in 200 village offices and activity centers within the jurisdiction from now on. This will allow people to control their weight and measure their blood pressure at any time when they go to community activity centers to enhance friendships with fellow villagers, and to keep an eye on their own health.
