The main symptoms of cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease are abnormal leucorrhea, vaginal or vulvar itching, irregular vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, swelling, etc. Cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease are gynecological diseases that can harm the health of female friends.

1. Cervicitis

The main symptom of cervicitis is increased vaginal discharge.

1. Acute cervicitis is mainly manifested by increased vaginal discharge, mucopurulence, and irritation of vaginal discharge can cause vulvar itching and burning sensation. Symptoms such as sexual pain and lower abdominal pain may occur.

2. Chronic cervicitis is manifested by lower abdominal or lumbosacral pain as a common symptom, which is aggravated by menstruation and defecation, and sexual pain may occur. Sometimes increased leucorrhea may be the only symptom, light yellow leucorrhea, sometimes with blood, or contact bleeding.

2. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Pelvic inflammatory disease usually presents with lower abdominal pain, swelling, back pain, increased vaginal discharge, menstrual disorders, sexual pain, and menstrual fever.

Patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease have high body temperature, rapid heart rate, tension, tenderness, and rebound pain in the lower abdominal muscles, abundant vaginal purulent secretions, obvious pain in the vault, tenderness and rebound pain in the uterus and bilateral adnexa, or thickening of one side of the adnexa.

2. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease may be accompanied by chills, high fever, headache, and loss of appetite. Compression of the bladder may cause frequent urination, painful urination, and dysuria; compression of the rectum may cause urgency and heaviness after urination.

3. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is mainly manifested by swelling and pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, sometimes accompanied by swelling and discomfort in the anus. Due to pelvic congestion, patients may experience symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, increased menstruation, and dysmenorrhea. Gynecological examinations show pain in the cervix.

4. The systemic symptoms of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease are not obvious, sometimes there is low fever, fatigue, and a long course of disease. Some patients may experience symptoms of neurasthenia.
