What diseases can severe cervical erosion cause?

Cervical erosion generally refers to cervical columnar epithelial ectopy. Severe cervical columnar epithelial ectopy can lead to endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility and other diseases. Cervical columnar epithelial ectopy is a common physiological change affected by hormone levels. It is not a real erosion such as medical epithelial shedding and ulcers. Usually there are no special symptoms. Once the patient has abnormal leucorrhea, bleeding during sexual intercourse, abdominal pain and other symptoms, it is necessary to seek medical attention in time.

1. Endometritis:

The cervix is located at the lower end of the uterus, connecting the uterus and the vagina. Once the ectopic pathogens of the cervical columnar epithelium move to the uterus, it may cause uterine infection and endometritis. Under the guidance of a doctor, you need to take drugs such as metronidazole tablets, levofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, and cefaclor sustained-release tablets.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease:

Patients with severe cervical columnar epithelial ectopy are likely to have an inflammatory reaction, which may spread to the pelvic cavity through the lymphatic vessels and parauterine ligaments, causing pelvic inflammation. Patients with severe symptoms can take drugs such as clindamycin hydrochloride capsules, cephalosporin capsules, and penicillin V potassium tablets under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Infertility:

For patients with severe cervical columnar epithelial ectopy, cervical secretions will increase significantly, which may prevent sperm from entering the uterine cavity and affect pregnancy. Cryotherapy, laser therapy, and electrocautery therapy can be performed under the guidance of a doctor.

In addition to the above diseases, it may also cause diseases such as cervical cancer. Patients usually need to pay attention to personal hygiene, change underwear frequently, and avoid sharing personal items with others.
