How to treat delayed periods

How to treat delayed menstruation?

Delayed menstruation is caused by pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome, hypothyroidism and other reasons, and requires intensive care, medication and other treatments.

1. Pregnancy:

If the menstrual cycle is regular and the follicles are well developed, when menstruation is delayed, consider pregnancy. First, you need to use a pregnancy test stick. You can also go to the hospital for abdominal B-ultrasound and routine blood tests. Generally, no special treatment is required.

2. Polycystic ovary syndrome:

It may be caused by abnormal hormone secretion in the body or bad living habits, which will lead to a decrease in estrogen content in the body, affect the normal menstrual cycle, lead to prolonged menstrual cycle, reduced menstrual volume, and in severe cases may affect pregnancy. Patients need to follow the doctor's advice and take drugs such as progesterone capsules, clomiphene citrate capsules, and dydrogesterone tablets.

3. Hypothyroidism

It is a systemic disease mainly caused by insufficient secretion of thyroid hormone. After the disease, symptoms such as slow heart rate, loss of appetite, fatigue, slow reaction, and weight gain will appear. When the secretion of thyroid hormone is insufficient, it will affect the body's normal metabolism, leading to delayed menstrual cycle and excessive menstruation. Patients need to take drugs such as levothyroxine sodium tablets, Yikang capsules, and thyroid tablets.

In addition to the above reasons, it may also be due to early ovarian insufficiency, endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids, etc. It is necessary to go to the hospital for detailed examination in time and take measures to treat it after clarifying the cause.
