What is the difference between pelvic effusion and bacterial vaginosis?

The difference between pelvic effusion and bacterial vaginosis generally has different definitions, different sites of onset, different symptoms, etc., but no matter which disease you have, you need to maintain a good attitude and actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment.

1. Different definitions:

Pelvic effusion is not a disease, but a symptom. The cause may be related to physiological factors, which may be caused by menstrual blood flowing into the pelvic cavity or follicular fluid flowing into the pelvic cavity. Pathological pelvic effusion may be related to diseases such as pelvic inflammation and endometriosis. Bacterial vaginitis is an independent disease, and its cause may be related to not paying attention to personal hygiene and sexual hygiene.

2. Different sites of disease:

Pelvic effusion mainly occurs in the pelvic cavity, abdominal cavity and other parts, while bacterial vaginosis mainly affects the vagina and vulva.

3. Different symptoms:

Pathological pelvic effusion can cause lower abdominal pain, and some patients may also experience lumbar pain; bacterial vaginitis can cause vaginal itching, as well as increased vaginal discharge and odor.

In addition to the common differences mentioned above, there are also certain differences in the treatment methods of the two diseases. If it is physiological pelvic effusion, generally no treatment is required. Pathological pelvic effusion can be improved through physical therapy such as microwave therapy and ultrashort wave therapy; patients with bacterial vaginitis can use drugs such as metronidazole tablets, tinidazole tablets, and norfloxacin capsules according to the doctor's advice.
