What to do if you get infected after abortion

Post-abortion infection is caused by bacterial infection within 1 to 7 days after the operation, resulting in fever, abdominal pain, increased secretions and odor. There are many kinds of pathogenic bacteria, mainly anaerobic streptococci, hemolytic streptococci, staphylococci, Escherichia coli, etc. Most patients are mixedly infected with several bacteria. The main sources of bacteria are self-infection and external infection.

After bacterial invasion, the severity and development of the disease vary due to differences in bacterial toxicity and body resistance. Mild local vaginal infection; severe inflammation of the endometrium and pelvic connective tissue, fever, and abdominal pain. If not controlled in time, it can lead to infectious shock and endanger life.

Prevention is the main focus for infection after artificial abortion. Go to the hospital to check whether there is inflammation in the vagina, cervix, and pelvis before the operation. If there is inflammation, treat it in time and perform the operation after it is cured.

Reproductive organ infection within 2 weeks after abortion is usually related to surgery. The incidence of infection is similar to that of general intrauterine surgery. The occurrence of acute endometritis after abortion is now relatively rare. The main causes of infection are: ① Aseptic operation is not strict. ② Untreated vaginitis, cervicitis or pelvic inflammatory disease before surgery. ③ The operation time is too long. ④ Cotton balls and gauze are left in the vagina and not removed in time. ⑤ The recipient has poor immunity. ⑥ Not paying attention to hygiene after surgery. The treatment measures are strict aseptic operation, preoperative treatment of patients with inflammation, and antibiotics after surgery to prevent infection.
