Will dysmenorrhea affect fertility?

Dysmenorrhea is an unspeakable distress for many young women. Especially for women of childbearing age, whether dysmenorrhea will affect future fertility has become a problem they worry about.

Whether dysmenorrhea can affect fertility needs to be judged by the causes of dysmenorrhea, and the causes of dysmenorrhea are nothing more than systemic factors and local factors.

Systemic factors include mental factors and the causes of stagnant menstrual blood. Mental stress, depression, fear, and emotional instability are closely related to the occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea; intense activities during menstruation, not paying attention to wind, cold, dampness, or physical weakness, or being extremely sensitive to pain, can also induce dysmenorrhea.

Local factors include ovarian endocrine factors and uterine factors. Dysmenorrhea basically occurs in women with ovulation cycles. The eggs are produced and discharged by the ovaries, so it is believed that dysmenorrhea may be related to ovarian endocrine factors; uterine muscle spasms can also cause dysmenorrhea. The causes of uterine spasms include excessive uterine bending, cervical stenosis, endometriosis, etc.

From the above-mentioned pathogenic factors, no factors can be found to affect fertility. On the contrary, if a woman has dysmenorrhea, it means that she has the ability to ovulate and is fertile. However, if dysmenorrhea is caused by gynecological diseases such as endometriosis, pelvic infection, and intrauterine adhesions, it will affect fertility.
