Is it useful to take dydrogesterone tablets for endometrial thick bleeding?

Bleeding usually refers to vaginal bleeding. Dydrogesterone tablets are usually effective for thick endometrium and vaginal bleeding caused by endocrine disorders, but usually have no effect for other reasons. Specific medications must be taken according to the doctor's instructions and should not be used on your own.

1. Useful situations: The secretion of estrogen and progesterone by the ovaries will affect the state of the endometrium and menstruation. If the estrogen level is too high but the progesterone level is too low, the endometrium cannot be switched from the proliferative phase to the secretory phase, which will cause excessive thickening of the endometrium and incomplete shedding, thus causing irregular vaginal bleeding. Dydrogesterone tablets are progesterone, which can supplement progesterone exogenously, replace part of the endocrine function of the ovaries, stop the endometrium from continuing to thicken, and cause the endometrium to shed completely, thus having a therapeutic effect.

2. Situations where it is useless: Diseases such as endometritis, endometrial polyps, and endometrial cancer may also cause abnormal thickening of the endometrium, accompanied by vaginal bleeding. Dydrogesterone tablets do not have anti-inflammatory or cancer treatment effects, nor can they eliminate endometrial polyps. Therefore, they usually have no therapeutic effect on the symptoms caused by these conditions.

It is recommended that patients go to the obstetrics and gynecology department of the hospital in time for B-ultrasound examination, sex hormone testing, etc. to clarify the cause, and then take appropriate treatment measures as prescribed by the doctor. Do not take medication at will to avoid delaying the disease.
