Bilateral polycystic ovaries?

The symptoms of polycystic ovary include menstrual disorders or even amenorrhea. Many patients with the disease also have high androgen levels and increased prolactin levels. The patient's ovaries are enlarged and have multiple small follicles. Even if ovulation is induced, ovulation disorders or luteinized cysts and thick ovarian walls may occur. It is related to pancreatic islet antagonism. Immune substances may appear around the patient's ovaries, affecting the maturation or discharge of follicles.

Polycystic ovary changes are only morphological signs. Any disease that causes excessive secretion of androgens in the body, such as hypercortisolism, hyperprolactinemia, adrenal or ovarian tumors that secrete androgens, can cause it. Persistent anovulation and thyroid dysfunction caused by other reasons can also cause pCO. In addition, about 20% of normal women without clinical symptoms have polycystic ovary changes during B-ultrasound examination.

What are the hazards of polycystic ovary changes?

1. Abnormal menstruation. Oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea, some patients may have continuous menstruation.

2. Infertility. The most notable feature of PCOS is anovulation, which means that you cannot ovulate, so you cannot get pregnant naturally.

3. Affecting appearance. The ovaries of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome secrete a large amount of androgen, which leads to beard growth, excessive pubic hair, acne, etc. These conditions may have an adverse effect on women's appearance.

4. Diabetes and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Patients with hyperinsulinemia are prone to diabetes and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, so polycystic ovary syndrome is also a high-risk factor for diabetes and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

5. Pregnancy complications: The risk of polycystic ovary syndrome, pregnancy-induced hypertension and gestational diabetes is significantly increased.

6. Malignant tumors: Due to the continuous stimulation of the endometrium by estrogen, delayed menopause can easily lead to endometrial cancer.
