What are the symptoms of uterine fibroids? Will uterine fibroids cause back pain?

Generally speaking, uterine fibroids have no obvious symptoms, which mainly refers to pain. Because it is a benign tumor, there is no pain, but if there is pain, most of the time it is caused by obvious symptoms. There are very few patients who have no obvious pain, which is often caused by special factors. Below, the symptoms of uterine fibroids are summarized:

Abdominal mass: The symptom of patients with uterine fibroids is a mass in the lower abdomen, which is usually the main complaint of patients with uterine fibroids, up to 69.9%. Sometimes it may be the only symptom of fibroids. Uterine fibroids grow out of the pelvic cavity and find abdominal masses, which are common in the morning when the bladder is full on an empty stomach.

Vaginal bleeding is also one of the common symptoms of uterine fibroids: Vaginal bleeding is the most common symptom of uterine fibroids, occurring in half or more of the patients. Subserosal uterine fibroids usually do not cause vaginal bleeding. When the intramural fibroids are large, excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation may affect uterine contraction or increase the area of the endometrium. If it is a submucosal fibroid, there will be irregular vaginal bleeding.

Pain: About 40% of patients with abdominal pain, 25% of patients with backache, and 45% of patients with dysmenorrhea; the symptoms of uterine fibroids also manifest as lower abdominal swelling or back pain, but the degree is not very serious. If the uterine fibroids are red and degenerated, the abdominal pain is severe and accompanied by fever. When the pedicle of the subserosal fibroids of the uterus is twisted, there will also be sudden and severe abdominal pain.

Generally speaking, the diagnosis of uterine fibroids is not difficult, but some special patients have certain difficulties in diagnosis, but it will not affect the final diagnosis result. The most commonly used diagnostic method is B-ultrasound examination. Whether early treatment is decided depends entirely on the nature and characteristics of the fibroids.
