What causes miscarriage? There are 4 reasons

The thing that women worry about most after becoming pregnant is an unexpected miscarriage, which is also a common complication during pregnancy. The main causes of miscarriage include maternal chromosomal abnormalities, endocrine disorders, cervical lesions, and ectopic pregnancy. In addition, there are many other reasons for miscarriage, so pregnant women must pay attention to avoid these causes in order to avoid miscarriage.

After becoming pregnant, women should not only adjust their living habits and maintain a good mood to promote the healthy development of the fetus, but also pay attention to some complications during pregnancy, especially miscarriage. Miscarriage is very harmful to women. Not only will it cause women to lose the opportunity to be mothers, but too many miscarriages may also lead to habitual miscarriage and induce infertility. So, what causes miscarriage?
1. Chromosomal abnormality
One of the common causes of fetal growth retardation is the abnormality of the chromosomes of the embryo itself. Chromosomal abnormalities can be either quantitative or structural. The most common abnormal karyotype is aneuploid triploid.
2. Endocrine disorders
Early embryonic development requires three important hormones, one is progesterone, one is estrogen, and the other is human chorionic gonadotropin. If the mother's hormone production is insufficient, it cannot meet the needs of the embryo, which may cause embryo arrest and miscarriage. The most common cause is luteal dysfunction, which may also be accompanied by other glandular dysfunctions, such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, diabetes, hyperprolactinemia and hyperandrogenemia, etc. These factors are not conducive to embryonic development.
3. Bleeding caused by cervical lesions
After pregnancy, the capillaries on the surface of the cervix dilate, becoming softer and more fragile, and thus more prone to bleeding. If the pregnant mother has previously suffered from cervical inflammation, cervical polyps, etc., if stimulated, she is very likely to have bleeding symptoms and induce miscarriage.
4. Ectopic pregnancy
Under normal circumstances, the fertilized egg implants and develops in the uterine cavity. If the fertilized egg implants outside the uterine cavity (such as the fallopian tube or ovary), it will lead to an ectopic pregnancy.
Ectopic pregnancy usually occurs between 6 and 8 weeks of pregnancy. The most common type of ectopic pregnancy is tubal pregnancy. The wall of the fallopian tube is very thin, and the gradually developing fertilized egg may cause the wall of the fallopian tube to rupture. Once ruptured, it will cause massive intra-abdominal bleeding and severe abdominal pain, and may even cause shock. Therefore, if the pregnant mother has a history of ectopic pregnancy, she should seek medical attention immediately if she finds bleeding.
