What are the symptoms of cervical warts at different stages?

Cervical warts are a common gynecological disease among female friends. The incidence of this disease has been relatively high in recent years, and the harm it brings to everyone is also very great. So, what are the symptoms of cervical warts at different stages?

(I) Incubation period

About 2/3 of people who have sexual contact with people with cervical warts can be infected with the disease, so cervical warts are generally more common in people with open or promiscuous sexual relationships. They are more common in sexually active young and middle-aged men and women, with the peak age of onset being 20 to 25 years old, and the incubation period ranging from 3 weeks to 8 months, with an average of 3 months.

Since cervical condyloma acuminatum is painless and itchy in the early stage, and the rash is not obvious, most patients are generally asymptomatic. The size and shape of the lesions vary. There may be only a few or many lesions as big as a needle tip. They may grow into large tumor-like objects in the vulva and anus, with a sense of oppression and a foul odor; sometimes small condyloma acuminatum may cause pain and discomfort in the vulva, and the patient may have hematuria and difficulty urinating. Condyloma acuminatum in the rectum may cause pain and blood in the stool, and large condyloma acuminatum in the rectum may cause a feeling of tenesmus.

At the beginning of the disease, the warts are reddish or dirty red millet-sized growths, which are soft in nature and slightly pointed at the top. They gradually grow or increase in number. They can develop into papillary or cystic shapes, with a slightly wide base or bands and granules on the surface. They often grow larger in the anus. They are cauliflower-like, with a moist or bleeding surface. There is often pus accumulated between the granules, which emits a foul odor. Scratching can cause secondary infection. Genital warts located in dry areas with low humidity are often small and flat wart-like. Warts located in hot, humid areas often appear filamentous or papilloma-like and easily merge into large masses.

(II) Subclinical stage

The clinical manifestations of subclinical CA are not obvious and are usually confirmed by the acetowhite test: after smearing and soaking with 5% acetic acid solution, shiny, uniform, clear-edged or scattered, needle-cap-sized whitening areas appear. This rash, which is not easy to find clinically, can exist alone or coexist with typical skin lesions. The manifestations of subclinical skin lesions mainly have the following three forms: ① Tiny sessile warts, 1 to 3 mm in diameter, single or several, mainly seen in dry areas, especially the penis body. If the skin lesions are too small, they are easy to be ignored. ② Tiny papillary protrusions, villous, sometimes many small protrusions merge to form a granular appearance, multiple. This type of skin lesion often occurs in the vaginal vestibule, vaginal opening, labia minora, posterior frenulum of the labia and vagina, and may be accompanied by itching and burning. ③ Normal-looking macules, mainly seen on the penis, female vulva, cervix and vagina, often multifocal. This type of skin lesion can only be identified after it turns white by the acetowhite test.
