The harm of endometrial tuberculosis to women

Endometrial tuberculosis is an inflammation of the endometrium caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is also one of the causes of female infertility, affecting women's normal life and fertility, causing serious troubles for many women. So what are the hazards?

What are the dangers of endometrial tuberculosis?

1. In the early stage of endometrial tuberculosis, the menstrual period may be prolonged and the menstrual flow may increase due to endometrial necrosis and shedding. With the different degrees of damage to the endometrium, the menstrual flow gradually decreases, and even amenorrhea may occur. Some patients contract tuberculosis in childhood, and their endometrium is destroyed since childhood, resulting in lifelong amenorrhoea.

2. Because Mycobacterium tuberculosis can invade the endometrium deeply and the myometrium, it can even cause the scars in the uterine cavity to adhere, deform and shrink. The scarred uterus is not easy to recover its function and can affect the implantation of the fertilized egg. Therefore, most patients will be infertile. Only a very small number of patients can grow a normal endometrium after treatment and become pregnant.

3. Most patients with genital tuberculosis suffer from infertility, and some even develop cancer, which can cause death. Endometrial tuberculosis is mostly secondary infection, with the primary lesion being mainly pulmonary tuberculosis.

Endometrial tuberculosis not only harms women's health, but also affects the next generation. Therefore, it is recommended that patients go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible to restore a harmonious family atmosphere.
