How long do people with Bartholinitis usually live?

How long can patients with Bartholinitis live? Experts say that Bartholinitis is a common gynecological inflammation that can be cured with timely treatment and will not directly affect life expectancy. So, today we will introduce to you the treatments for this disease.

What is Bartholinitis?

Bartholinitis is an inflammation of the Bartholin glands. The Bartholin glands are located in the lower 1/3 of the labia majora on both sides, with a diameter of about 0.5-1.0 cm. Their outlet ducts are about 1.5-2.0 cm long, and the gland opening is located on the inner side of the labia minora near the hymen. Under the stimulation of sexual intercourse, mucus is secreted for lubrication. Due to the special anatomical location, pathogens can easily invade and cause Bartholinitis.

Treatment of Bartholinitis:

The treatment of Bartholinitis should try to identify the pathogen, mainly with drug treatment, and if abscess is formed, surgical incision and drainage can be considered. If there are other complications, attention should be paid to improving the general condition.

1. Anti-inflammatory treatment:

Choose appropriate drugs according to the nature of the pathogen.

2. General treatment:

During the acute phase, you should stay in bed and keep the vulva clean. You can apply cold compresses locally. If you have a fever, you can drink more fluids.

3. Local treatment:

If an abscess has formed, it should be immediately incised and drained and a stoma should be made. The incision should be made at the thinnest part of the skin, on the inner side of the labia majora, to drain the pus. Or after fully disinfecting the vulva, use a larger needle to pierce the abscess cavity from the mucosal side and suck out the pus.

In addition, the treatment of Bartholinitis can also be treated with Chinese medicine after abscess incision and drainage, and with external Chinese medicine. The specific method should be determined according to the patient's specific condition. Patients must undergo scientific examinations to find the cause before treatment. Do not blindly treat it, which will cause lifelong regrets.
