How to prevent bacterial vaginosis from recurring

Bacterial vaginosis is a very common gynecological disease in women, which seriously affects women's physical and mental health. If it is not treated thoroughly, it is easy to relapse. An important reason for the recurrence of bacterial vaginosis may be due to improper treatment methods. Therefore, before treatment, you should first determine the specific situation of the disease through examination, and then treat it. Today, I will share with you what to do if bacterial vaginosis recurs?

1. General treatment

When women have bacterial vaginosis, they should keep their vulva clean and dry, and avoid scratching or rubbing to prevent bacterial reinfection. They should change their underwear frequently and disinfect it with boiling water to prevent cross infection.

2. External treatment

Use 2% soda water to wash the vagina and vulva once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment. Generally, after washing the vagina, you should put the medicine into the vagina. Or use nystatin powder, tablets, suppositories, ointments to insert into the vagina or apply to the vulva, 100,000 to 200,000 units each time, once a day, 10 to 14 days as a course of treatment.

3. Pay attention to health care during menstruation

When menstruation comes, it is advisable to use sterilized cotton pads and pay special attention to avoid bacterial infection. Bathroom equipment must be kept clean and avoid sharing by multiple people to reduce the chance of infection. In terms of diet, it is necessary to avoid spicy and irritating foods. It is advisable to moderately consume lactic acid beverages, such as yogurt, which is conducive to maintaining the acidic environment of the vagina.

4. Treatment should be thorough

Be sure to complete the course of treatment prescribed by the doctor. For most patients, as long as the medication is used properly, the test results will be negative after a few days, but this does not mean that they are completely cured. In fact, some bacteria that have not been completely eliminated are hiding under the mucosa, and they will come out again when the patient's resistance is weak before or after the next menstrual period.

During the treatment of bacterial vaginosis, the patient's underwear, used bathtubs, towels, etc. should be boiled in hot water for disinfection. The direction of wiping after defecation should be from front to back to avoid bringing bacteria from the anus into the vagina. Take antibiotics as little as possible to avoid disrupting the normal balance of vaginal bacteria.
