Common knowledge about bacterial vaginosis

Many female friends are often troubled by this disease, that is, candidal vaginitis. Clearly, after taking a shower, you can start to feel discomfort in that part, as if you have your period, but when you check, you will find that it is not, but an abnormal increase in leucorrhea. What is the reason? It turns out that you have candidal vaginitis! So what kind of disease is candidal vaginitis?

As the name suggests, it is caused by fungal infection, and its incidence rate is higher than that of Trichomonas vaginitis. Fungal infection is also called Candida infection in medicine. Therefore, fungal vaginitis is also called Candidal vaginitis. It is more common in young girls, pregnant women, diabetic patients and postmenopausal patients who have been treated with high doses of estrogen. Patients with fungal vaginitis show symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, itching and burning sensation of the vulva and vagina, painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various changes in the epidermis; very shallow blisters and papules may occur; eczema-like erosions may also form; some may cause tiny white pustules, and ulcers may occur in severe cases.

Symptoms of candidal vaginitis include increased leucorrhea, vulvar and vaginal itching and burning sensation, painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various changes in the epidermis. Shallow vesicles and papules may appear in groups, or eczematous erosions may form, which are limited to the vulva or extend to the perineum, anus, and femoral genital folds until the inner thighs, and the appearance is completely similar to acute or subacute eczema. The mucosa near the labia and clitoris is thickened, and the skin surfaces that touch each other are flushed and eroded. In some cases, tiny white pustules may occur, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymphadenopathy may occur.

The vagina has its own defense capabilities and the inhibitory effect on vaginal Dunaliella. About 10% of women and 30% of pregnant women are carriers of fungi, but they do not have any clinical symptoms. This is because Candida albicans grows best in a vaginal environment with a pH value of about 5.5, and under normal circumstances of vaginal Dunaliella, the pH value of the vagina is 4-4.5. Even if fungi exist, they cannot reproduce. Using alkaline disinfectants such as 3% sodium bicarbonate solution to irrigate the vagina or the pH value during menstruation exceeds 5.5, fungal vaginitis can be alleviated.

Leucorrhea is not necessarily a prominent symptom of vaginitis, but watery leucorrhea, curd-like or ointment-like leucorrhea may occur. For example, some are completely thin, like clear serous exudate, but often contain white flakes; others are thick, like curd or crumbs. There are often two completely different clinical manifestations. About half of the patients have a large amount of watery or purulent leucorrhea without white flakes. The vaginal mucosa is moderately red and edematous, without severe itching or burning sensation, only a feeling of moisture in the vulva. Another type of patient has typical curd-like or flaky and sticky leucorrhea. The vaginal mucosa is highly red and swollen, with white flaky films (such as thrush) that adhere and are easy to peel off; underneath is the eroded base of the damaged mucosa or the formation of shallow ulcers. In severe cases, ecchymosis may be left behind, with severe itching and burning sensation. The itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis during pregnancy are more severe.

Friends who suffer from this disease should not be afraid or shy. They should go to the hospital for examination in time and actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment. Only in this way can they live a happy life. Therefore, for their own happy life, we need to understand the concept of related diseases and give ourselves an accurate positioning so that we can face it calmly.
