Delayed menopause should alert ovarian tumors

Menopause is a dangerous period for women. During this period, various gynecological diseases may occur due to the decline of body functions. Therefore, any problems during menopause should be screened for ovarian tumors first. Experts say that women should not go through menopause too late, otherwise they should be alert to the possibility of ovarian tumors.

Delayed menopause should alert to the invasion of ovarian tumors

The average menopausal age for women in my country is about 49.5 years old. Some experts believe that the menopausal age for women should not exceed 53 years old, otherwise they should be alert to the possibility of ovarian tumors.

The ovarian tumors that cause delayed menopause are mainly ovarian granulosa cell tumors and theca cell tumors. The former is a low-grade malignant tumor, and the latter is a benign ovarian tumor. Sometimes these two tumors can exist at the same time.

If menopausal women suffer from ovarian granulosa cell tumor or theca cell tumor, most of them have no other symptoms except menstrual disorders and delayed menopause.

Therefore, late menopause has become an important information for ovarian granulosa cell tumor and theca cell tumor. Menopausal women over the age of 53 who have not yet reached menopause should be vigilant and not neglect ovarian tumors.

Female friends should always pay attention to their own health, especially postmenopausal women. They should not simply think that they have lost some female functions after menopause and do not need to pay attention to their reproductive health.

Women over 30 years old should have gynecological examinations and B-ultrasound examinations every year, and if necessary, serum CA125, AFP and other tumor markers should be measured. For high-risk groups with breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, or a family history of ovarian cancer, they should be closely followed up, preferably every six months. In addition, a high-protein diet rich in vitamin A, avoiding a high-cholesterol diet, not smoking, not drinking, strengthening physical exercise, and improving one's physical fitness are all helpful in preventing ovarian tumors.
