Contraindications to postmenopausal hormone therapy

If you want to know the treatment method for menopause, we must first know the causes of menopause. There are many causes of menopause, and each person's situation is different. Experts recommend appropriate treatment methods and principles. The following is an expert explanation of the contraindications of postmenopausal hormone therapy.

1. Induce ovulation: For patients who desire fertility and have not lost ovarian function, hormones or similar drugs can be used to induce ovulation.

2. Treatment of organic lesions that cause menopause: For patients with intrauterine adhesions, the uterine cavity can be expanded, adhesions can be separated, intrauterine contraceptive devices can be placed to prevent re-adhesion, and estrogen and progesterone can be used to promote endometrial hyperplasia and exfoliation. For patients with ovarian or pituitary tumors, hymen or vaginal atresia, surgical treatment can be performed after diagnosis. For patients with genital tuberculosis, anti-tuberculosis treatment is given.

3. Estrogen and progesterone replacement therapy: For patients with congenital ovarian dysplasia, or ovarian function is suppressed or damaged to the point of functional failure, exogenous ovarian hormone replacement therapy can be used. These patients lack normal follicles and oocytes and do not secrete sex hormones. If estrogen or estrogen and progesterone are given for artificial cycle therapy, the physiological and psychological state of estrogen deficiency can be corrected, the development of reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics can be promoted to a certain extent, sexual life can be improved, and periodic withdrawal bleeding similar to menstruation can be caused.

4. General supportive therapy: including spiritual comfort, relieving worries, improving nutrition, combining work and rest, and appropriate exercise to enhance physical fitness; if systemic diseases are found, they should be treated first; breastfeeding should be stopped if the breastfeeding period exceeds 1 year.
