5 types of drinks that women with dysmenorrhea should avoid during menstruation

Many women have to endure the great pain of dysmenorrhea, which can cause headaches, fatigue, and even shock. To relieve the pain of dysmenorrhea, women should avoid drinking the following drinks during menstruation.

1. Caffeinated beverages

Drinking too much caffeinated beverages such as coffee during menstruation can cause breast pain, anxiety, irritability and mood swings, aggravate dysmenorrhea symptoms, and consume more vitamin B stored in the body and disrupt carbohydrate metabolism.

2. Wine

Alcohol will consume the body's vitamin B and minerals. Excessive drinking will disrupt carbohydrate metabolism and produce too much estrogen, stimulate vasodilation, and cause early menstruation and excessive menstrual flow.

3. Cold drinks

Cold beverages should be avoided during menstruation to avoid blood stasis, which may lead to scanty menstruation, dysmenorrhea and other discomforts.

4. Milk

Cheese is the root cause of dysmenorrhea, such as milk, cheese, cream, and yeast milk. These foods will destroy the absorption of magnesium and aggravate dysmenorrhea and other abdominal discomfort symptoms.

5. Green Tea

Menstrual blood contains relatively high levels of hemoglobin and plasma protein. Women lose a lot of iron after menstruation and should take more iron supplements. The tannic acid contained in tea can affect the absorption of iron ions by the intestinal mucosa, causing anemia; it can also make women emotionally unstable and irritable, leading to increased pain.
