What are the physical characteristics of patients with acute ectopic pregnancy?

Acute ectopic pregnancy is a common clinical type of ectopic pregnancy. The patient's physical examination mainly includes the following three aspects.

1. General signs of the whole body

Patients with acute ectopic pregnancy usually have acute anemia, cold limbs, rapid and weak pulse, decreased blood pressure, and even shock in severe cases. The patient's body temperature is generally within the normal range, but it will be slightly lower in shock, and may rise slightly when the blood is absorbed in the abdominal cavity, but most of the time it will not exceed 38°C.

2. Abdominal signs

Acute ectopic pregnancy patients will have obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the lower abdomen, especially on the affected side, but the symptoms are much milder than the board-like abdomen of patients with peritonitis due to the tense abdominal muscles. In addition, if the patient has a lot of intra-abdominal bleeding, there will be mobile dullness during percussion, and a soft mass can be found during palpation of the lower abdomen. Repeated occurrences will cause the mass to gradually increase in size and become hard.

3. Pelvic signs

Pelvic examination of patients with acute ectopic pregnancy can reveal that the posterior vaginal fornix is full and tender, and the cervix also has obvious pain when it is lifted. The patient will feel severe pain when the cervix is gently lifted or shaken left and right. If there is a lot of intra-abdominal bleeding, the uterus will have a certain floating feeling, and a mass with blurred boundaries with surrounding tissues can be touched on one side or the back, which is like a wet dough and is painful when touched.
