Nursing measures for patients with cervical erosion after microwave treatment

Nursing measures for patients with cervical erosion after microwave treatment

Microwave treatment of cervical erosion is a commonly used clinical method with good efficacy, a cure rate of more than 90%, and a low recurrence rate. So, what nursing measures should patients pay attention to during the recovery stage after treatment?

1. Vulva cleaning

After microwave treatment of cervical erosion, the patient will have a large amount of vaginal secretions due to the healing and repair reaction of the wound, so it is particularly important to keep the vulva clean. Specific care measures include washing the vulva frequently with clean water, and being careful to avoid using vaginal suppositories for vaginal washing; changing underwear frequently, and try to dry the underwear in the sun after washing. Sanitary pads can be used when necessary, but be sure to change the pads frequently.

2. Avoid sexual intercourse

Sexual intercourse should be avoided as much as possible within 2 months after microwave treatment of cervical erosion to prevent mechanical stimulation from affecting the healing of the cervical wound, causing vaginal inflammation, and further affecting the repair function of normal cervical tissue.

3. Observe vaginal bleeding

Within 1 to 2 weeks after microwave treatment of cervical erosion, the patient will experience a small amount of vaginal bleeding. This is the process of scab formation and healing of the lesions, which is a normal phenomenon. However, if the amount of vaginal bleeding is heavy, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

4. Timely review

Generally, within 1 to 2 months after microwave treatment, you should go to the hospital for a follow-up examination in time according to the doctor's requirements to understand the healing status of the cervical wound and proceed with the next step of treatment under the doctor's guidance.
