Long-term constipation can induce adnexitis

Long-term constipation can induce adnexitis

Adnexitis is a common gynecological disease with a complex etiology. Long-term constipation is a major cause. Although constipation is a digestive system disease, it is a symptom of prolonged defecation time due to constipation, or difficulty in defecation due to dry stool. However, if it continues for a long time, it will induce adnexitis, especially salpingitis. So, how does constipation induce adnexitis?

The female uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and other internal reproductive organs are located in the pelvic cavity, adjacent to the bladder in front, and close to the intestines in the back and sides, especially the right fallopian tube is adjacent to the appendix and cecum, and the left fallopian tube is adjacent to the sigmoid colon and rectum, which is also the reason why salpingitis often occurs. Long-term constipation can cause various pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and molds, to be stored in the excreta in the intestines of the body, and these pathogens can easily invade the left fallopian tube and ovary directly through capillaries and lymphatic vessels, thereby causing adnexitis.

TIPS: Generally speaking, adnexitis caused by constipation progresses slowly in mild cases and may have no obvious symptoms. In severe cases, lower abdominal pain and back pain often occur, accompanied by increased vaginal discharge, increased menstrual blood volume, dysmenorrhea, and pain during sexual intercourse. The lumen of the fallopian tube is relatively thin. If inflammation causes blockage, it will hinder the combination of sperm and egg and cause female infertility.
