1. When to have a follow-up examination after abortion

Generally speaking, if women do not experience abnormal symptoms after abortion, they can have a reexamination one month later to understand the specific situation of uterine recovery after surgery and the overall health of the body. However, if the following three situations occur after surgery, you should go to the hospital for a reexamination in time: a small amount of vaginal bleeding 10 days after surgery; severe abdominal pain, fever, or vaginal bleeding exceeding menstrual volume within 10 days after surgery; abnormal menstrual period after surgery calculated according to the previous menstrual cycle, you should go to the hospital for a reexamination immediately.

2. What examination items should be done after the abortion?

First, a routine gynecological examination must be done after the abortion to determine the recovery of the cervix and vagina, to judge the success rate of the operation, and to understand whether there is vaginal inflammation or infection. Secondly, the postoperative review should also focus on checking leucorrhea. If the characteristics, color, and amount of leucorrhea exceed the normal level, you should pay close attention to the possibility of local acute inflammation and infection. Thirdly, postoperative B-ultrasound examination is also very important to understand the recovery of the endometrium and whether there is incomplete abortion, so as to facilitate timely treatment of the disease, otherwise it is easy to cause unnecessary physical damage.
