For patients with irregular menstruation, prolonged menstruation means that the menstrual period lasts for more than 7 days, or even lasts for half a month, with little menstrual flow, or slightly more than normal. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that prolonged menstruation is mainly caused by spleen and kidney deficiency, Chong and Ren meridians are not solid, or blood heat forces blood to flow, blood stasis is blocked, and new blood cannot return to the menstruation. The reasons for prolonged menstruation are probably as follows: Spleen deficiency and insufficiency The spleen is weak due to deficiency of Qi, or fatigue damages the spleen, which leads to deficiency of Qi and failure to absorb blood, resulting in instability of Chong and Ren meridians, and continuous bleeding after menstruation. It is often caused by eating disorders, improper work and rest, and long-term illness. The spleen has the functions of transporting and transforming nutrients in food, distributing water, and controlling blood. Spleen deficiency leads to abnormal transport and transformation, and may cause nutritional disorders, water failure to be distributed and produce dampness and phlegm, or blood loss. Kidney Qi is not solid Kidney deficiency or excessive sexual intercourse and childbearing damage the kidney qi, resulting in the kidney failing to seal and store, and poor retention, resulting in prolonged menstruation. Due to insufficient kidney qi, the sealing and storage are impaired, and the Chong is not solid, which leads to various symptoms. The disease is located in the kidney, and the syndrome is deficiency. Yin deficiency and internal heat Yin deficiency, or irregular sexual intercourse, or too many pregnancies, or long-term illness or serious illness can cause loss of Yin essence. Yin deficiency can cause internal heat, which can disturb the Chong and Ren meridians, resulting in continuous menstrual bleeding. Damp heat bet The body is filled with dampness and heat, or there is sexual intercourse during menstruation or irregular daily routines, which causes the dampness and heat to invade the blood sea in the uterus, forcing the blood to flow and causing prolonged menstruation. Blood stasis blocking the pulse There is old blood stasis in the body, or during the period of menstruation and childbirth, the blood chamber is opening and the remaining blood has not been completely drained, and the cold evil causes the blood to coagulate due to the cold, forming blood stasis. The blood stasis blocks the uterine vessels, and the blood does not return to the menstruation, resulting in a prolonged menstrual period. |
