Amy is 40 years old. In the past two years, she often felt that her lower abdomen was swollen and painful. The waist pain was severe, which was aggravated by fatigue and before and after menstruation. There was a lot of yellow vaginal discharge with odor, and the menstrual flow was more than before. Such symptoms were lingering and made people feel melancholy. Amy went to the hospital for a check-up last week and found out that she had pelvic inflammatory disease.

Xiao Wei, 36 years old, has had severe back pain in the past six months. After sitting in the office all day and coming home, her back can't move. The pain is especially severe after sexual intercourse, and she also has symptoms such as lower abdominal distension and general fatigue. Xiao Wei is therefore unwilling to be intimate with her husband. Over time, a gap inevitably arises between the couple. Xiao Wei went to the hospital for a checkup and found that she had pelvic inflammatory disease, a common disease in women.

Pelvic inflammatory disease refers to inflammation of the female upper reproductive tract and surrounding tissues. The inflammation can be confined to one part or involve several parts at the same time. The most common are salpingitis and salpingo-oophoritis. Pelvic inflammatory disease often occurs in women who are sexually active and menstruating.

Acute pelvic inflammatory disease is mainly caused by pathogens, and the clinical manifestations may vary depending on the severity and extent of the inflammation. Patients often have high fever, chills, loss of appetite and lower abdominal pain; chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is often caused by the failure to properly and thoroughly treat acute pelvic inflammatory disease, the patient's physical condition is poor, and the course of the disease is prolonged.

The early symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease are not obvious and are often difficult to detect. Clinical studies have found that many patients with pelvic inflammatory disease have obvious symptoms of low back pain. Therefore, it is recommended that female friends do not ignore low back pain and go to the hospital as soon as possible. Pelvic inflammatory disease can be cured if it is detected and treated early.
