The relationship between chronic cervicitis and cervical cancer

The relationship between chronic cervicitis and cervical cancer

As the most common gynecological inflammation in women, chronic cervicitis has always been taken seriously by women because of its potential for cancer. The symptoms of chronic cervicitis are mainly found in abnormal vaginal discharge, which is easier to detect than other symptoms of chronic cervicitis .

Chronic cervicitis can increase the risk of cancer. The incidence of cervical cancer in women with chronic cervicitis is nearly ten times higher than that of the general population. Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia may occur in the columnar epithelium derived from the proliferation of the cervical canal. If it is not treated promptly and correctly, it will gradually develop into cervical precancerous lesions. Because chronic cervicitis is often combined with HPV infection, it is one of the suspicious signals of causing cervical cancer. This development process generally takes 5-10 years.

Generally speaking, simply suffering from chronic cervicitis will not pose a big threat to health, but symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, back pain, and lower abdominal distension caused by chronic cervicitis often affect people's emotions. From the perspective of cancer prevention, chronic cervicitis is closely related to cervical cancer. According to relevant cancer prevention survey data, 0.39% of people without cervical erosion suffer from cervical cancer, while 2.05% of people with uterine erosion suffer from cervical cancer. This shows that actively treating chronic cervicitis and taking active preventive measures are of great significance to protecting women's health and preventing and treating cervical cancer.

If chronic cervicitis is treated in time, it is easy to cure. However, if you want to cure it, you need to check the cause more often. Caring for female friends in daily life is also one of the important measures to prevent chronic cervicitis, and it should not be underestimated.
