Do you know the classification of uterine fibroids?

Do you know about uterine fibroids? How much do you know about the classification of uterine fibroids? Now, let the experts introduce to you what are the classifications of uterine fibroids? I hope it can help you understand uterine fibroids more and better.

According to the different parts of the uterus where the fibroids are located, the classification of uterine fibroids are:

1. Subserosal fibroids: Intramural fibroids develop toward the serosa and protrude from the surface of the uterus, directly contacting the serosa, accounting for about 20%. If they protrude between the two leaves of the broad ligament, they are intra-broad ligament fibroids.

2. Cervical fibroids: They are less common in the classification of uterine fibroids. They grow in the cervix of the uterus. Because they grow in a low position, they can be embedded in the pelvic cavity, causing compression symptoms. Surgical removal is difficult and can easily damage the ureter and bladder. Uterine fibroids are often multiple, and the above different types of fibroids can occur simultaneously in the same uterus, which is called multiple uterine fibroids.

3. Intramural fibroids: The fibroids are located within the muscle wall and are surrounded by the muscle layer. This type of fibroid is the most common when the disease first occurs, so it accounts for about 60-70%.

4. Submucosal fibroids: Intramural fibroids grow into the uterine cavity, protrude from the uterine cavity, and come into direct contact with the mucosal layer, accounting for about 10%-15%. This tumor can gradually enlarge and deform the uterine cavity, and often has a pedicle connected to the uterus. If the pedicle is long, it can block the cervical opening or fall out of the vagina.

Through the above introduction, do you have some understanding of the classification of uterine fibroids? The above simple introduction hopes to be helpful to everyone. Here, I also wish that patients with uterine fibroids can receive early treatment and recover soon.
