Abnormal vaginal discharge can be indirectly transmitted

Abnormal leucorrhea itself is not contagious, but it may reflect some contagious gynecological diseases, such as Trichomonas infection or sexually transmitted diseases, which need to be taken seriously and examined and treated as soon as possible.

Leucorrhea is a normal fluid secreted by the female reproductive system. In a healthy state, it is transparent or milky white and has no obvious odor. However, when infected with pathogens or endocrine disorders occur, leucorrhea may undergo pathological changes, such as yellow color, abnormal odor, or increased volume. In some cases, abnormal leucorrhea can indicate potential infectious diseases, such as bacterial vaginosis or gonorrhea, which can be transmitted to partners through sexual contact.

Different reasons can cause changes in vaginal discharge. For example, fungal infection is usually accompanied by leucorrhea that is lumpy and "tofu dregs", while Trichomonas infection may cause foamy yellow-green leucorrhea, and bacterial vaginosis often produces a fishy odor. If accompanied by symptoms such as vulvar itching, abdominal pain, or urinary pain, special attention may be required. These signals indicate not only local health problems, but may also affect the entire reproductive system.

You should pay attention to personal hygiene, choose breathable materials for underwear and change them in time, and avoid abusing cleaning products to avoid disrupting the balance of vaginal flora. If abnormal vaginal discharge lasts for more than 3 days or is accompanied by other physical discomfort, it is recommended to see a doctor as soon as possible to identify the cause and receive targeted treatment to avoid delays that may lead to more serious problems.
