Everyone's way of going to work varies depending on where they work. Whether they drive, ride a motorcycle, take public transportation, or ride a bicycle to work, they just hope to arrive at the company smoothly and not be late. But we should not underestimate the amount of exercise during this commuting time, because according to the latest research from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, the commuting method you choose every day may affect your weight in the long run. The authors collected data on commuting methods and body mass index (BMI) of 150,000 people aged 40-69. The analysis found that compared with commuters who drive cars, those who commute by walking, cycling or taking public transportation have less average body fat and a lower BMI. The most significant difference was in cycling. The results showed that the weight of men and women who used bicycles as a means of commuting was about 5 kg and 4.4 kg less respectively compared with the group who drove.
