The Consumers' Foundation accepts the complaint after the refund of substandard milk powder was refused

In response to the recent seizure of 10 tons of expired animal feed milk powder by the Tainan District Prosecutor's Office, which was suspected of being made into milk powder, goat milk, coffee, milk tea and other beverages by food and beverage manufacturers, the Consumers Education Foundation of the Republic of China stated that it will assist consumers who are refused to return feed milk powder related products to file complaints with the industry.

The Consumers' Foundation said that if consumers' requests to return feed milk powder are refused by the industry, they can report it to the Foundation.

The Consumer Foundation called on relevant government agencies to immediately trace the source of the substandard milk powder that entered Taiwan's vending machines, food stores and breakfast shops, posing a serious threat to human health, in order to ensure food safety for the public. Even if the suspected businesses claim that the products in question are safe, they should immediately remove the products from the shelves to avoid further harm, and then put them back on the shelves for sale after proof of safety is provided.

If consumers return feed-related products but are refused or mishandled by the business, they can file a complaint with the Consumer Foundation for assistance. In addition, the Consumer Foundation also took the opportunity to reiterate its position, calling on the government to quickly promote the long-delayed and not yet mandatory "Food History System", and to include the "Consumer Protection Fund" policy in the amendment to the Consumer Protection Law to protect consumers' food safety and consumer rights.
