The outbreak has spread from imported beef to domestic live pigs, ducks, geese and other livestock and poultry meats. The H5N2 avian influenza outbreak in chickens is still ongoing. The problem of clenbuterol is making people afraid to eat it. It has not only caused unrest in livestock and caused a sharp drop in prices, but also triggered a crisis of confidence among many consumers.

The Executive Yuan has launched strict measures to inspect each batch of imported beef and pork products in the hope of giving full play to the functions of the "three controls and five cards" to restore consumer confidence. Changhua County Health Bureau Director Yeh Yen-po said that in order to protect the food safety of many consumers, an attack was launched at dawn on the 20th, with troops divided into five groups heading to the towns of Xihu, Puxin, Pitou and Tianwei to conduct surprise inspections on a total of five upstream meat food suppliers supplying the catering industry. A total of more than 60 samples of meat, vegetables and processed food products were collected for rigorous testing.

Ye Yanbo further emphasized that this can be said to be the largest-scale food inspection action in history, covering all kinds of meat such as imported and domestic beef, pork, chicken, duck, and goose. He hopes that at a time when the public is facing a crisis of confidence in the central government, they can start with full cooperation from the local level to help the public to check in order to safeguard the food safety of consumers, gradually rebuild credibility, and regain people's confidence in meat consumption.
