Is it okay to do laparoscopy for pelvic effusion?

Laparoscope is similar to electronic gastroscope, which is an instrument with a miniature camera. Laparoscopic surgery is a surgery performed using a laparoscope and related instruments. Is laparoscopy good for pelvic effusion?

Pelvic effusion is the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity, which can occur pathologically after pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis or endometriosis. According to pathological factors, it can be divided into physiological pelvic effusion and pathological pelvic effusion. Physiological pelvic effusion is not a bad thing for women, but pathological pelvic effusion is more harmful. Once a woman suffers from this type of effusion, she should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Chronic pelvic pain is often difficult to diagnose clinically due to the lack of positive findings. However, a variety of lesions can be found under laparoscopy, including unexplained pain after sterilization. The most common lesion is endometriosis, accounting for about 30%. Ovarian cysts, thickening of the uterosacral ligament, varicose veins of the fallopian tubes and ovaries, pelvic adhesions, pelvic congestion syndrome, etc. can also be diagnosed under laparoscopy. Especially for pelvic congestion syndrome, if the broad ligament veins are thickened and varicose or spherical, and there are old tears at the bottom of the broad ligament under laparoscopy, a clear diagnosis can be made. However, 40% of patients with chronic pelvic pain still have no abnormal findings under laparoscopy.

After being diagnosed by a gynecologist as an indication for laparoscopic surgery and undergoing this surgery, you should pay attention to personal hygiene and wash the navel with warm water. It is best to use a cotton swab dipped in soapy water or vegetable oil to remove dirt from the navel. In terms of diet, you should eat light and easily digestible food the day before the operation, and avoid eating too much fish and meat to prevent postoperative intestinal flatulence. At the same time, you should be mentally prepared, adjust your mental state, and ensure adequate sleep. Take oral sedatives as prescribed by the doctor if necessary.
