What causes menstrual toothache?

What's wrong with menstrual toothache?

Menstruation generally does not cause toothache. Toothache may be caused by diseases such as caries, periodontitis, alveolar abscess, pericoronitis of wisdom teeth, and pulpitis.

1. Tooth decay:

Its occurrence is usually related to diet, oral environment and other factors. Patients have no obvious discomfort symptoms in the early stage. As the disease worsens, patients will experience symptoms such as toothache, swelling, bad breath, etc., and severe cases will lead to pulp necrosis.

2. Periodontitis:

The occurrence of periodontitis is usually related to dental plaque, trauma and other factors. After inflammatory stimulation, patients often experience gingival edema, and some patients will have bleeding, pus, etc. As the disease progresses, some patients will have loose teeth, and patients will experience discomfort or pain when chewing.

3. Alveolar abscess:

Alveolar abscess refers to an acute suppurative inflammation between the tooth root and the alveolar bone, mainly secondary to pulp disease. Patients may experience symptoms such as toothache, looseness, and swelling of the dental mucosa due to inflammatory stimulation.

4. Pericoronitis of wisdom teeth:

The occurrence of pericoronitis of wisdom teeth is generally related to factors such as overwork and excessive consumption of greasy food. Patients with inflammatory stimulation generally experience swelling and pain in the tissues around the wisdom teeth, which can cause swallowing pain, chewing pain and difficulty opening the mouth. Some patients may also have symptoms such as fever and general fatigue.

5. Pulpitis:

The occurrence of pulpitis is generally related to bacterial infection, chemical, physical and other factors. Patients often experience toothache due to inflammatory stimulation. Some patients may have radiating pain in the head and face.

If the above discomfort occurs, you need to seek medical attention in time. During treatment, it is recommended to eat a light diet and avoid spicy and irritating foods, which is conducive to the recovery of the disease.
