What are the typical symptoms of invasive molar pregnancy?

Most invasive hydatidiform moles can present as irregular vaginal bleeding or significant extrauterine metastasis several months after evacuation of the hydatidiform mole. The hydatidiform mole continues to rise after evacuation.

Irregular vaginal bleeding 3-4 weeks after the expulsion of the hydatidiform mole; examination of women reveals persistent vaginal metastatic nodules, enlarged uterus, parauterine masses, and ovarian lutein cysts; tumor tissue ruptures the uterus and causes internal bleeding; hemoptysis, cough, chest X-ray, headache, coma, hemiplegia, and convulsions.

Clinical manifestations: Vaginal bleeding within six months after hydatidiform mole surgery, with early manifestations of the uterus still being larger than normal; if the myometrium ruptures, symptoms and signs of internal bleeding may occur, or hematoma within the broad ligament of the pelvic mass, etc. If there are vaginal and lung metastases, corresponding symptoms and signs may also be found, such as purple-blue vaginal metastatic nodules and hemoptysis.

1. Irregular vaginal bleeding: After the mole is removed, irregular vaginal bleeding is the most common symptom of malignant mole. Bleeding can be continuous or intermittent. Or irregular bleeding may occur several months after menstruation returns to normal. Some patients have no symptoms of vaginal bleeding.

2. Uterine enlargement and lutein cysts: After the hydatidiform mole is completely eliminated, the uterus remains large and soft, and lutein cysts persist.

3. Abdominal pain and abdominal bleeding: When the lesion penetrates the uterine wall, it will cause abdominal pain and local tenderness, and even abdominal bleeding, shock, etc. Torsion of lutein cysts can also cause acute abdominal pain.

4. Coughing up blood: When the disease metastasizes to the lungs, patients often cough up blood in sputum or hemoptysis, or have symptoms such as chest pain and tightness.

5. Other rare symptoms: such as severe headache, nausea and vomiting, hemiplegia, hematuria, etc.
