What are the causes of ovarian cysts?

What causes ovarian cysts?

Causes:

1. Genetics

According to statistics, 20-25% of ovarian tumor patients have a family history. In recent years, studies have found that Lynch syndrome is also closely related to the occurrence of ovarian cancer. Breast cancer and endometrial cancer are often complicated by ovarian tumors. These three diseases are all dependent on estrogen.

2. Endocrine factors

Although the ovaries are small, they are important organs that produce eggs and ovulate, secrete hormones, and balance endocrine system. Ovarian tumors often occur during the reproductive age when endocrine system is active.

3. Lifestyle factors

Long-term dietary structure, bad living habits and excessive psychological stress can cause excessive acidification of the body, a decline in the body's overall function and reduced immune function, which can lead to abnormal proliferation of ovarian tissue, eventually leading to ovarian cysts and even cancer.

4. Environmental factors

Food contamination, such as plant growth hormones used in vegetables, hormone components such as clenbuterol in formula feeding of livestock and poultry. In recent years, with the improvement of living standards and changes in eating habits in my country, and the abuse of hormone drugs and tonics such as breast enhancement, weight loss, and anti-aging by some young and middle-aged women, the high incidence and younger age of ovarian tumors may also be related.

The most common ovarian cysts in women of childbearing age are functional ovarian cysts, such as follicular cysts, corpus luteum cysts, lutein cysts, and polycystic ovaries. These are caused by excessive physiological reactions due to endocrine dysfunction, insufficient secretion of luteinizing hormone, drug stimulation, etc.
