How to distinguish between hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma

Hydatidiform mole and choriocarcinoma are two different diseases with different causes, benign and malignant characteristics, and symptoms. It is recommended that when these two diseases occur, relevant treatment measures should be taken in a timely manner to avoid missing the best treatment period.

1. Different causes

Hydatidiform mole is an abnormal pregnancy, which mainly refers to the fertilized egg not developing into an embryo or placenta after combination, but being replaced by edematous villi, which appear like beads. Choriocarcinoma mainly occurs after various pregnancies, such as hydatidiform mole, miscarriage, full-term birth, etc., and is a tumor formed by the malignant change of trophoblastic cells.

2. Different benign and malignant

Hydatidiform mole is benign, while choriocarcinoma is malignant. Since choriocarcinoma is secondary to hydatidiform mole, patients with hydatidiform mole should be reviewed in the hospital after recovery. Once malignant changes are found, intervention should be carried out as soon as possible to obtain a better prognosis.

3. Different symptoms

Patients with hydatidiform mole mainly experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, and abdominal mass. After metastasis, they may also experience symptoms such as cough, headache, and ascites. Typical symptoms of choriocarcinoma are vaginal bleeding and ovarian lutein cysts. When cancer metastasizes to the lungs, patients may experience symptoms such as chest pain and difficulty breathing.

It is recommended that when you suffer from these two diseases in your daily life, you should take relevant measures to treat them in time. At the same time, during the treatment process, patients should also develop good living habits, give priority to high-vitamin and high-protein foods in daily life, and maintain a balanced diet. At the same time, you also need to maintain an optimistic attitude in life and actively respond to the treatment of the disease.
