What causes uterine prolapse into the vaginal opening?

What is the reason for uterine prolapse into the vaginal opening?

Prolapse of the uterus into the vaginal opening may be caused by malnutrition, increased abdominal pressure, delivery injury, etc.

1. Malnutrition:

Severe lack of nutrition can lead to muscle atrophy, relaxation of the pelvic fascia, and loss of support for the uterus, leading to the above situation. Uterine prolapse caused by malnutrition is often accompanied by symptoms such as gastroptosis and abdominal wall relaxation. Patients usually need to pay attention to nutritional supplements, such as eating some milk, eggs, ribs, etc., and can also cooperate with doctors to use uterine support treatment.

2. Increased abdominal pressure:

Postpartum women prefer to lie on their backs, which is prone to chronic urinary retention. The uterus is prone to become posterior, and the uterine axis and vaginal axis are in the same direction. When abdominal pressure increases, the uterus descends along the vagina, leading to the above situation. It is recommended to lie flat at ordinary times. Constipation patients should eat crude fiber foods to prevent constipation from causing increased abdominal pressure. Patients with frequent coughs need to use compound licorice tablets, ambroxol, bromhexine and other drugs to relieve cough according to the cause to prevent increased abdominal pressure. Pelvic floor muscle exercises are usually also required to improve the condition.

3. Delivery injury:

If the delivery is difficult, the second stage of labor is prolonged, or vaginal surgery is performed, it is easy to cause damage to the cervix, the main cervical ligament, the sacroiliac ligament, and the pelvic floor muscles. If the supporting tissues fail to return to normal after delivery, the above situation is likely to occur and surgical treatment is required.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, there may also be other reasons such as congenital developmental abnormalities, which require timely treatment according to the cause.
