How to use medicine for recurrent vaginitis

Vaginitis, or inflammation of the vagina, is a group of conditions that cause vulvovaginal symptoms such as itching, burning, irritation, and abnormal discharge.

Recurrent vaginitis requires different medication plans for different causes, as follows:

1. Bacterial vaginosis: Due to the overgrowth of anaerobic bacteria, you can use metronidazole orally or topically, or clindamycin orally or topically. For recurrent bacterial vaginosis, it is recommended to use lactobacillus vaginal capsules under the guidance of a doctor to restore normal vaginal flora.

2. Vulvovaginal candidiasis: Antifungal drugs can be used, such as clotrimazole, miconazole, nystatin, etc. For recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis, the male's foreskin fungal infection needs to be treated, while the female needs to extend the treatment time and consolidate the treatment.

3. Trichomonas vaginitis: Metronidazole can be used orally or topically. For recurrent Trichomonas vaginitis, sexual partners need to be examined and treated, and sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment.

In order to avoid recurring vaginitis, you need to pay attention to personal hygiene, change underwear frequently, avoid wearing tight pants and often hold urine and other bad habits. During the treatment period, you need to take medicine on time, have regular checkups, and adjust the treatment plan under the guidance of a doctor. At the same time, if you have other diseases, such as diabetes, tuberculosis, etc., you need to actively treat them to reduce the risk of recurring vaginitis.
