How to check for intrauterine adhesions

How to check for intrauterine adhesions?

Intrauterine adhesions can only be detected through physical examination by a doctor, laboratory tests, ultrasound examination, hysterosalpingography, and sonohysterography.

1. Doctor's physical examination:

The causes of intrauterine adhesions include endometrial trauma, infection, estrogen secretion, menstruation, amenorrhea, cyclical abdominal pain and other symptoms, which can be judged by a doctor. The doctor mainly observes whether there is abnormal vaginal discharge and secretions, checks the position, size, texture and activity of the uterus, and also needs to check whether there is tenderness and rebound pain in the lower abdomen.

2. Laboratory examination:

Laboratory tests generally involve hormone measurements, usually follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, testosterone, progesterone, prolactin, etc., which can determine whether there is adhesion in the uterine cavity.

3. Ultrasound examination:

Generally speaking, abdominal ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound are a method of diagnosing intrauterine adhesions.

4. Hysterosalpingography:

The main method is to inject contrast agent into the uterine cavity through the cervix, and use pelvic X-rays to display the morphology of the uterine cavity and the patency of the fallopian tubes to determine whether the uterine cavity is adhered.

5. Uterine sonosonography:

To understand the specific situation of intrauterine adhesions, it is also necessary to perform hysterosalpingography to understand whether there are lesions and adhesions in the uterine cavity.

Patients with intrauterine adhesions can undergo hysteroscopic intrauterine adhesion resection under the doctor's surgery, which is beneficial to the control of the disease. During the recovery period, it is necessary to go to the hospital for regular check-ups to understand the recovery of the uterine cavity.
