How to treat cervicitis

How to treat cervicitis

Cervicitis is a common gynecological disease with various symptoms, including increased leucorrhea, lower abdominal pain, back pain, etc. There are many causes of cervicitis, such as bacterial infection, viral infection, mechanical stimulation, etc. If cervicitis is not treated in time, it may cause more serious gynecological diseases and even lead to infertility.

There are three main treatments for cervicitis:

1. Drug treatment: The most commonly used treatment for acute cervicitis is drug treatment, including local and systemic medication. Local medications include antibiotic vaginal suppositories, anti-cervicitis tablets, etc., and systemic medications include cephalosporins, penicillins, quinolone antibiotics, etc. For cervicitis caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, antibiotics such as spectinomycin and ceftriaxone are required.

2. Physical therapy: For chronic cervicitis, the commonly used treatment method is physical therapy, such as laser, freezing, microwave, etc. These treatments can effectively remove diseased tissue and relieve symptoms.

3. Surgical treatment: Severe cervicitis, such as cervical polyps, cervical hypertrophy, etc., may require surgical treatment. Surgical treatment can completely remove the diseased tissue, but it may also cause some damage to the cervix.

The treatment of cervicitis requires choosing the appropriate method according to the specific situation, while paying attention to maintaining good hygiene habits and regular check-ups to obtain the best treatment effect.
