What is cervicitis

Cervicitis refers to inflammation of the cervix, including inflammation of the cervicovaginal part, which is the part from the lower end of the uterus to the vagina, and inflammation of the cervical canal mucosa.

Cervicitis can be divided into acute cervicitis and chronic cervicitis. Acute cervicitis is often caused by specific bacteria infecting the cervical mucosa, which is mostly caused by pathogenic bacteria infection. It can also be caused by cervical cell damage or long-term stimulation. Clinical manifestations may include increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching or lower abdominal pain, etc. During examination, cervical congestion, vaginal discharge, and more white blood cells are found. Antibiotics are needed for treatment, such as metronidazole, ornidazole, etc. Chronic cervicitis is mostly caused by incomplete or untreated acute cervicitis, usually including cervical polyps, cervical hypertrophy, cervical Nathion gland cysts, etc. Patients can continue to use the above-mentioned drugs as prescribed by the doctor. If necessary, surgical treatment is required. Active treatment can improve the symptoms of cervicitis.

Patients need to take a rest during medication, avoid fatigue, eat a light and balanced diet, and eat foods rich in vitamins, such as celery, dragon fruit, carrots, kiwis, etc. Avoid eating spicy foods, such as peppers, mustard, raw onions, ginger, etc. Also avoid greasy and cold foods, such as fried chicken, ice cream, etc. At the same time, patients need to follow the doctor's advice for regular follow-up visits, and seek medical attention in a timely manner if they have any discomfort.
