How is pelvic inflammatory disease diagnosed?

Pelvic inflammatory disease can be diagnosed through physical examination, vaginal ultrasound, laparoscopy, etc. Patients should seek medical attention promptly if they experience any discomfort.

1. Physical examination: Patients with pelvic inflammatory disease usually have symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, fever, and abnormal vaginal discharge. The doctor will first perform a physical examination on the patient. If the above symptoms occur, they may consider pelvic inflammatory disease.

2. Vaginal ultrasound examination: After vaginal ultrasound examination, patients with pelvic inflammatory disease usually have symptoms such as fallopian tube thickening and fallopian tube hydrops. Some patients will have pelvic effusion and fallopian tube and ovarian masses. If the patient has the above symptoms, it is generally diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease.

3. Laparoscopic examination: After laparoscopic examination, symptoms such as congestion on the fallopian tube surface and edema of the fallopian tube wall are usually found. There is purulent secretion at the end of the fallopian tube. If the above situation occurs, pelvic inflammatory disease is considered.

In addition to the above diagnosis, the diagnosis can also be made through endometrial biopsy, cervical secretion smear, etc. After diagnosis, metronidazole tablets, levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, amoxicillin capsules and other drugs can be used for treatment under the guidance of a doctor, which can play an anti-inflammatory and bactericidal role and improve symptoms. In daily life, pay attention to local hygiene, wash frequently, and change underwear frequently to reduce inflammation.
